The Story: Bending Tradition with a Brunch Wedding
Mark had been going to brunch with his family at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek since he was young, and the venue quickly became the obvious choice for his wedding to Brandon. But how would we successfully pull off the first same-sex wedding ever held at this luxurious venue without losing focus and a sense of ownership over the details? As we got deeper into the planning process, we also confronted questions regarding etiquette and tradition and, more importantly, how to break tradition a bit without distracting from the ceremony and reception.
A key question we asked throughout the process was, “How do you bend the rules of tradition a bit to make an event feel like your own?” Enter the Brunch Wedding. Rather than opting for a dinner party and reception with all the bells and whistles, we created a space within The Mansion to be non-traditional, modern, and fun. Brandon and Mark’s beautiful ceremony and reception was truly luxurious and spectacular. In the end, they paved the way for their own traditions and set a new standard of etiquette for years to come.
