A FALL ISLAND WEDDING AT THE RIVER COURSE ON KIAWAH ISLAND, SOUTH CAROLINA
The Story: Multiple Venue Spaces, One Cohesive Wedding Design
Claire has been visiting Kiawah Island since she was a child. Her family owned a home there, and it was during her frequent stays that Claire developed a deep love for the Lowcountry island. Because of this, Claire and Neal knew they wanted to hold their wedding on Kiawah. However, they weren’t sure how to incorporate multiple locales into the wedding experience while also navigating the logistics of working with
the myriad of companies who own the island’s event venues. The bride, her mother and I worked to create a cohesive Kiawah-inspired theme for the weekend while also weaving in various venues from around the island when appropriate. Through solid planning and collaboration, we were able to pull together a cohesively-designed Lowcountry wedding that allowed the couple and their guests to soak in all that Kiawah Island has to offer.
