A FALL BALLROOM WEDDING AT THE FOUR SEASONS RESORT AND CLUB IN LAS COLINAS, TEXAS
The Story: How to Plan a Wedding from a Distance Without Sacrificing Personal Style
Rather than push our bride's passion for championship horse jumping and showing to the wayside, it was our goal to incorporate horses into Taylor and Malcom’s wedding without overpowering the entire event. We didn’t want to lean into a horse “theme,” but instead wanted to hint at this important facet of her life. We also faced a problem that many brides encounter—distance. Taylor wasn’t sure how to approach planning a wedding since she lives in the Northeast, her mother lives in West Texas, and her father lives in Las Vegas. We needed to find a location that would bring her family together without excluding anyone.
Instead of hosting their wedding in the Northeast where they live, Taylor and Malcolm wanted to find a wedding venue that would make it easy for their families to join them in celebration. Since Dallas is a national hub, it proved to be the perfect locale. To incorporate the bride’s love for championship horse jumping and showing into the wedding without it becoming overpowering, we thoughtfully crafted a soft color palette that allowed unique details—such as blue ribbon escort cards—to reference this area of Taylor’s life in a meaningful, aesthetically-pleasing way. The result? A “blue ribbon” wedding experience in every possible way.
